The team at the University of Minnesota said the void is nearly a billion light-years across and they have no idea why it is there."Not only has no one ever found a void this big, but we never even expected to find one this size," said astronomy professor Lawrence Rudnick.
Writing in the Astrophysical Journal, Rudnick and colleagues Shea Brown and Liliya Williams said they were examining a cold spot using the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe satellite, and found the giant hole.
Translation : Scientists study Lindsay Lohan's head.
While I would never defend Lindsay Lohan in any way.. are we sure it wasn't Michael or Dina Lohan? Honestly, couldn't it have been any one of them.. or even Britney Spears?

Yes, I saw that paper. As usual, the news article inflates their claims. They didn't conclusively find the "huge hole" there; they just found a suggestion of it. But, it also happens to coincide with the location of another anomaly, as they said, the "cold spot" in the cosmic microwave background. It's not the only possible explanation of the cold spot, but it is actually one of the most plausible. So, it's an interesting finding, but it was overhyped.

ReplyDeleteObservers say that it may not have been just Lohan that was being viewed, apparently she was with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie and the combination of the three caused a rift in the space time continuum !! I think this hole may have sucked up the translator!!
